IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Rules have been updated as of April 17, 2007.  See Rule 7 - FGZ now extends from hogline to the backline of the house.  (No stone may be removed from play prior to delivery of the fourth stone of each end.  If that should happen, the delivered stone is removed from play and all other stones are returned to their original positions.)

  • See the "What's New?" page for more information on what's new on this website.

  • See this for more information on hosting a Stick Curling Canada Provincial or Canadian Championship Event

  • If you are hosting a bonspiel or league or are trying to start a league PLEASE SEND US YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION to admin@stickcurling.ca so that we may advertise your bonspiel and league on this site.  As our sport continues to grow we want to make it a fully sanctioned sport within Canada and hope to someday bring the sport to Olympic status.  To do this we need to know how widespread our sport has become and be able to estimate the number of participants in the sport.  The information of your leagues and bonspiels will help us gain this information.

  • SURE-SHOT is the official Curling Stick sponsor of Stick Curling Canada and donates SURE-SHOT Trophy Sticks to SCC for their Championship Events.  For more information visit the SURE-SHOT Website at www.sure-shot.ca.

INTRODUCTION:

Stick Curling is a new sport which provides challenge and excitement for people of all ages on an equal and competitive basis, and in a social atmosphere.  Stick Curling is also appropriate for people with physical disabilities such as knee, back, heart, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, ankle, or foot problems, or just simply advanced age.  The rocks are handled with a curling stick from a standing or sitting position (i.e. wheelchairs) enabling everyone to participate competitively.

Stick Curling leagues using the 2 Person Team Rules (See "Rules of Play") have been starting throughout Canada and internationally.  With all the benefits to the Clubs and to the Participants the rapid growth of Stick Curling should not be a surprise to anyone.

BENEFITS:

CLUB BENEFITS  PARTICIPANT BENEFITS (2 Person Team Rules)

  •  Both team members are always occupied performing the most interesting aspects of the game (i.e. throwing stones and skipping)
  •  No Sweeping between the Hoglines
  •  Each game is less than one hour so participants do not have time to get cold or bored
